The Defense Health Agency Contracting Activity (DHACA) is soliciting applications for the Neurofibromatosis Research Academy – Scholar Award. This award supports early-career independent investigators to pursue a neurofibromatosis project that may include basic, translational, and/or clinical research. The proposed research should address at least one of the FY26 NFRP Areas of Emphasis. Key elements of the award include:
• Preliminary data that are relevant to NF and the proposed research project are encouraged but not required.
• The Scholar must be in an early-career stage and have a strong record of accomplishments.
• The Career Guide must have a strong record of mentoring and training early-career investigators.
• The Scholar and Career Guide are required to attend biennial, multiday NFRA workshops and, in alternate years, a one-day NFRA workshop.
The award provides funding, networking, and collaboration opportunities, and the research experience necessary to develop and sustain a successful, independent career at the forefront of neurofibromatosis research.
