Description

The University of Florida Center for Autism and Neurodevelopment (UF CAN) is soliciting proposals from Florida‑based charter schools or organizations that will partner to create, expand, or modify charter or laboratory schools that serve exclusively students with autism spectrum disorder and related developmental disabilities. The award will be a grant that offsets startup costs, with funding awarded on a competitive basis. Recipients must have a sponsoring entity’s charter approval and will be required to submit annual reports and re‑apply each year for continued funding. The contract term is initially one year with the possibility of two additional one‑year renewals. • Eligibility: Florida charter schools (or entities with a charter agreement) serving autism spectrum disorder / developmental disabilities students. • Scope: Startup grant funding for personnel, facilities, curriculum, equipment, transportation, insurance, and indirect costs associated with establishing or expanding the charter school. • Requirements: Annual reporting, compliance with UF CAN oversight, technical assistance, and adherence to UF procurement and contractual terms. • Funding Mechanism: Multiple award ITN (Invitation to Negotiate) with amounts varying per award; all awards subject to legislative appropriation.
