Description

The U.S. Navy is seeking a contractor to manufacture or refurbish a cylinder assembly. The contractor must have a valid U.S. Security Clearance of CONFIDENTIAL or higher and must comply with various Navy regulations and standards. The contractor will be required to perform a teardown and evaluation of the cylinder assembly and provide a firm-fixed price quote for the full repair effort. The contractor must also maintain traceability of the markings to each unit throughout refurbishment and provide a metal tag with the unique and permanent CCRP (FP) Serial Number. Key points to consider: • The contractor must have authorized access to classified documents. • The contractor must comply with the Contract Security Classification Specification (DD Form 254). • The contractor must provide a signed letter of authorization as a distributor on the OEM's letterhead if not the Original End Manufacturer (OEM) of the material. • The contractor must provide the cost of new (actual or estimated) for evaluation purposes. • The contractor must specify any exceptions to the solicitation requirements. • The contractor must provide a Firm-Fixed Price (FFP) quote for the full repair effort. • The contractor must maintain a permanent log of all new FP serial numbers assigned.

Budget estimate

$100,000 – $500,000

The estimated budget for this opportunity is difficult to determine without more information on the quantity of cylinder assemblies to be refurbished and the complexity of the work involved. However, based on the fact that the contractor must provide a firm-fixed price quote for the full repair effort, it is likely that the budget will be in the range of $100,000 to $500,000. This estimate is based on the assumption that the refurbishment of a single cylinder assembly will require a significant amount of labor and materials, and that the Navy will require a large quantity of assemblies to be refurbished. Factors that may influence the likely payment range include the complexity of the refurbishment process, the cost of materials and labor, and the level of competition among contractors.
