The North Carolina Department of Transportation is seeking a contractor to perform state route shoulder and median mowing in Alleghany County. The contract will have an effective date of March 14, 2026, and a completion date of December 31, 2026. The contractor will be required to provide all necessary equipment, tools, materials, transportation, and labor to complete the work. The contract will include routine and cleanup mowing cycles, and the contractor will be required to comply with moratoriums established in SL 2025-47 (SB 391) for calendar year 2026. • The contractor will be required to mow vegetation along state highway system routes within Alleghany County. • The contractor will be required to provide at minimum the following functional and operating equipment each cycle in the performance of mowing for this contract. • The contractor will be required to comply with the North Carolina Department of Transportation's standard specifications and special provisions. • The contractor will be required to have a minimum of one NCDOT Certified Work Zone Supervisor. • The contractor will be required to provide a performance guarantee in the form of a performance and payment bond or a retainage fee.
