The FY26 Breast Cancer Research Program (BCRP) Breakthrough Award Levels 1 & 2 invite extramural and intramural U.S. Department of War entities to submit innovative breast‑cancer research proposals. Level 1 supports high‑risk, early‑stage ideas without preliminary data (up to $0.75 M, 3‑year term). Level 2 supports projects with substantial preliminary data (up to $1.65 M for single PI or $2.5 M for partnering PI, 3‑year term). Applications may be submitted by a single PI or a partnered PI team (Initiating PI + Partnering PI). Six awards are anticipated, with total funding ≈ $10.6 M. Key dates: pre‑application (LOI) due Nov 4 2026, full application due Nov 18 2026; award notification by Sep 30 2027. Mandatory registrations on SAM.gov, eBRAP.org, and Grants.gov are required.
• Eligible: U.S. DoW organizations (extramural/intramural), for‑profit or non‑profit, domestic or foreign.
• No cost‑sharing required.
• Must address at least one FY26 BCRP overarching challenge (e.g., prevention, metastasis, over‑diagnosis).
• Maximum performance period: 3 years (4 years for population‑science option, not covered here).
• Annual and final technical progress reports required.
