Unit 8 Battery Replacement at the Power Plant

The City of Ames is seeking bids for the replacement of the station batteries for Unit 8 at the Power Plant. The project includes replacing the batteries, spill containment system, and several battery accessories. The batteries will be rack-mounted in a building with thermostatically controlled temperature, and the vendor shall supply, install, and start up the new battery set and remove and properly dispose of the existing station battery, spill protection, and rack, as necessary. The project requires the vendor to provide a minimum capacity rating of 1600 AH on an 8-hour basis, and the batteries shall be compatible with the existing LaMarche A12B Battery Charger.
