The U.S. Air Force Rapid Sustainment Office is conducting market research to identify commercial off‑the‑shelf or rapidly adaptable dieless robotic sheet‑metal forming systems. The goal is to replace traditional die‑based tooling with flexible, software‑defined robotic arms that can form aerospace‑grade aluminum, steel, and titanium components on‑demand at depot, maintenance, or factory facilities. Respondents must submit a white‑paper describing hardware, software, material compatibility, footprint, autonomy, supply‑chain compliance, and readiness levels. Submissions are due 27 Oct 2026, 1600 ET; questions must be submitted by 15 Oct 2026, 1600 ET. No contract award is implied – this is an information‑gathering effort.
• Identify COTS or rapidly adaptable robotic sheet‑metal forming solutions.
• Demonstrate capability with Al 2024, Al 7075, Al 6061 (and optional steel/titanium).
• Provide CAD‑to‑Path software that operates offline and supports open standards.
• Show compliance with DCMA, NDAA, FAR telecom restrictions, and foreign‑source prohibitions.
• Detail system footprint, power/utilities, and in‑situ metrology.
• Include TRL/MRL, case studies, and supply‑chain origin of major components.
