Our Island Home Medical Director

The Town of Nantucket is seeking a qualified physician to serve as the Medical Director for its Our Island Home Skilled Nursing Facility for the calendar year 2027 (with optional two‑year extensions). The role provides clinical oversight, policy development, quality improvement, and physician leadership, limited to a maximum of 18 hours per month with at least one on‑site visit and one committee meeting each month. Compensation is a lump‑sum annual rate with an hourly rate for any approved overtime. • Contract term: Jan 1 2027 – Dec 31 2027 (1 year, renewable up to 3 years) • Service limit: ≤18 hours/month (≈216 hours/year) plus overtime at agreed hourly rate • Required activities: monthly on‑site visit, monthly committee participation, clinical oversight, policy development, quality‑improvement, physician credentialing, infection‑control guidance, education, and documentation review • Reporting line: reports to the Our Island Home Administrator; collaborates with department heads • Location: Our Island Home Skilled Nursing Center, 9 East Creek Road, Nantucket, MA 02554 • Payment: monthly invoicing; lump‑sum annual fee plus hourly overtime rates • Mandatory qualifications: active medical license, ≥5 years experience in Massachusetts municipal long‑term‑care settings, insurance coverage, tax compliance and non‑collusion certifications, references • Submission deadline: Oct 20 2026 2:00 pm via OpenGov e‑procurement portal
