Description
The City of Asheville is soliciting competitive bids for the selective demolition of damaged structures and park amenities along the French Broad Riverfront. The contractor will be responsible for demolishing multiple buildings, bridges, utility poles, lighting fixtures, signage, fences, playground equipment, and related structures; preparing shop‑drawing submittals; obtaining and adhering to a Storm‑Water Pollution Prevention Plan (SWPPP); protecting existing trees and vegetation; managing erosion and sediment control; handling hazardous material removal; and completing site restoration and back‑filling. The work must comply with federal, state, and local environmental and safety regulations, and the contractor must hold the appropriate North Carolina General Contractor’s license, provide a 5 % bid bond, and later furnish 100 % performance and payment bonds.
• Demolition of various park buildings, bridges, restrooms, pavilions, and utility infrastructure.
• Required shop‑drawing development, SWPPP approvals, and comprehensive erosion‑control measures.
• Tree‑protection fencing, hazardous‑material handling, waste recycling, and post‑demolition site stabilization.
