The County of Maui Department of Human Concerns is seeking a qualified for‑profit or non‑profit organization to act as Program Administrator for the Special Medical Needs Power Supply Program. The vendor will design, implement, and manage a one‑year program that provides backup power systems to residents who rely on life‑sustaining medical equipment, handling intake, eligibility screening, medical verification, technical assessment, procurement, installation, training, and quarterly reporting. The contract is funded with $150,000 and may be extended for a second year based on performance. • Administer intake and eligibility for Maui residents with medically‑necessary electric equipment. • Verify medical necessity with physician documentation. • Assess, procure, and install backup power systems capable of ≥4 hours (preferred ≥8 hours). • Provide on‑site training, maintenance coordination, and safety compliance. • Deliver quarterly performance and financial reports to DHC. • Contract term: 1 year (possible 1‑year extension).
