Description

The National Institute on Aging (NIA) intends to publish a Notice of Funding Opportunity (NOFO) to enable the development and expansion of a rigorously trained workforce in scientific disciplines related to the NIA mission. The grant will offset the cost of stipends, tuition and fees, and training related expenses, including health insurance, for the appointed trainees. The NOFO will utilize the T32 activity code and will not accept applications seeking to develop training programs focused on Alzheimer's disease and related dementias research. Key aspects of this opportunity include: • The grant will support the development of new institutional predoctoral and/or postdoctoral training programs in high-priority areas of aging research. • The grant will cover the cost of stipends, tuition and fees, and training related expenses for the appointed trainees. • Applications are not being solicited at this time, but potential applicants are encouraged to begin developing meaningful collaborations and responsive projects. • The NOFO will utilize the T32 activity code. • The grant is expected to be awarded on April 1, 2027, and the project is expected to start on the same date.
