Tribal Tourism Grant Program (TTGP)

The Tribal Tourism Grant Program (TTGP) is a competitive discretionary grant program that supports the NATIVE Act by expanding tourism visibility and driving increased visitation to Tribal destinations. The program provides funding for projects that facilitate, promote, and enhance existing Tribal tourism operations, and strengthens destination positioning, drives visitation, and supports Tribal participation in the tourism industry. Eligible applicants include Indian Tribes and Tribal Organizations, and the program encourages proposals that address clearly defined tourism challenges and opportunities, and are aligned with the economic development goals and priorities of the Tribal community. The grant awards are for a project and budget period of 24 months, and the program provides technical assistance to competitively selected projects. Some key aspects of the program include: • Tourism Facilitation & Enhancement: The project must be centered on the facilitation, promotion, and enhancement of existing Tribal tourism operations. • Capacity Building & Local Participation: The project must demonstrate how it will build capacity within the Tribal tourism ecosystem and support participation of Tribal businesses, entrepreneurs, artists, and community members. • Cultural Significance & Visitor Experience: The project must demonstrate how it will authentically reflect Tribal culture while enhancing the visitor experience. • Project Direction & Collaboration: The proposal should clearly define the project approach, including the activities to be carried out and the anticipated outcomes. • Project Deliverables & Performance Measurement: The application must include clearly defined tasks, timelines, and measurable outcomes aligned with program performance indicators. • Cost Appropriateness & Budget Justification: Project expenditures must be allowable pursuant to 2 CFR 200 and in alignment with the NATIVE Act.
