Description

The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) is conducting market research to identify potential sources of commercial products/services that satisfy the Government's anticipated needs for a robotic manipulation platform that supports bimanual teleoperation data collection and A.I. model training. The platform must be compatible with the Robot Operating System 2 (ROS) environment, Humble or Jazzy. The system should include four robotic arms, a high-performance desktop workstation PC, and software compatibility with open-source bimanual manipulation software frameworks. • The robotic arms should have a minimum of six degrees of freedom (DOF) and include two leader arms with grippers for manipulation tasks. • The workstation should have a dedicated graphics processing unit (GPU) with a minimum of 30 GB video random-access memory (VRAM) and AI platform suitable for real-time A.I. inference and model training. • The system must be pre-configured and operational upon delivery without requiring additional hardware integration by Government personnel. • The system should support open-source bimanual manipulation software frameworks and be compatible with the Robot Operating System 2 (ROS) environment, Humble or Jazzy.

Budget estimate

$200,000 – $500,000

The budget for this opportunity can be estimated based on the complexity and requirements of the robotic manipulation platform. Considering the need for a high-performance desktop workstation PC, four robotic arms, and software compatibility, the estimated budget could range from $200,000 to $500,000. This estimate may vary depending on the specific requirements and the bidder's proposed solution. Factors that may influence the likely payment range include the cost of the robotic arms, the workstation, and the software development, as well as any additional services such as installation, training, and equipment maintenance.
