Description

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (Portland District) is seeking a sole‑source supplier to provide replacement bearing rings for the turning glands on the dredge vessel Essayons. The bearing rings are proprietary, manufactured only by Royal IHC, and must be machined to OEM specifications (CuAl10Ni, CC333G). The contract calls for two sets (four rings total), along with required documentation (final dimensions, material test report) and delivery to the USACE District Warehouse in Portland, OR. This is a non‑competitive acquisition under 10 U.S.C. 3204(a)(1). • Sole‑source award to IHC America Inc. • Supply of 4 proprietary phosphorus‑bronze bearing rings (CuAl10Ni). • Must meet OEM drawings and provide test reports. • Delivery to 8010 NW St Helens Rd, Portland, OR 97210. • No public solicitation; contract will be negotiated directly. • Primary agency contact: Julia Carlton (USACE).

Budget estimate

$50,000 – $150,000

The solicitation does not disclose a contract value. Bearing rings of this size and material, machined to OEM tolerances, typically cost between $12,500 and $35,000 each, plus engineering documentation and logistics. For four rings, a reasonable estimate ranges from roughly $50,000 (minimum bulk pricing, minimal documentation) to $150,000 (including detailed testing, expedited delivery, and overhead).
