The City of Golden is seeking proposals for CM/GC services for Reach 1 and Reach 4 of the Lena Gulch Project. The project involves improving the condition of the Lena Gulch channel, solving issues with undersized and aging infrastructure, and mitigating flood impacts to US Highway 40. The scope of work includes preconstruction services, construction services, and management of the project. The project is funded through an FHWA PROTECT Grant and has a total budget of $30,000,000. The City is looking for a contractor with experience in CM/GC projects, particularly those involving municipal governments and FHWA or CDOT funding. Key personnel and organizational structure, technical and management capabilities, and safety and quality control plans will be evaluated as part of the proposal.
• The project involves two reaches: Reach 1, which runs from the southern access to the Martin Marietta quarry to just south of the southern access to Heritage Square, and Reach 4, which runs from just upstream of Zeta Street to approximately Violet Street.
• The project requires preconstruction services, including cost modeling, OPCC development, coordination with the Independent Cost Estimator, value engineering, and risk management.
• The project also requires construction services, including open channel and closed channel construction, and coordination with the Mile High Flood District.
• The City is looking for a contractor who can demonstrate an understanding of the project objectives, schedule constraints, NEPA dependencies, and FHWA funding deadlines.
• The contractor must also demonstrate experience in working with municipal governments, CDOT, and FHWA, and have a proven track record of delivering similar projects on time and within budget.
