Request for Information (RFI) - Project Manager, Short and Intermediate Effectors for Layered Defense Maneuver-Short Range Air Defense Increment 4

The US Army is conducting market research to identify potential sources and solutions for the Maneuver-Short Range Air Defense (M-SHORAD) Increment 4 capability. The capability aims to provide air defense to protect dismounted maneuver forces in the near, mid, and far terms. The desired solution should be a vehicle-agnostic, self-loading equipment dock (SLED) or pallet-based system that can be placed onto light army tactical vehicles. The system should have a modular design, leverage Modular Open System Approach (MOSA) in hardware and software, and be reconfigurable to meet different mission needs. Key performance characteristics include interoperability with Integrated Air and Missile Defense (IAMD) Battle Command System, independent operation, and the ability to operate from vehicular platforms. • The system should be able to defeat and destroy unmanned aircraft systems groups 1-3 and rotary-wing and fixed-wing close support aircraft. • The system should have a modular design and leverage MOSA architecture. • The system should be reconfigurable and loadable on standard Army infantry support vehicles. • The system should provide its own power for independent operation. • The system should have a human-machine interface and be capable of remote operation. • The system should have artificial intelligence and machine learning capabilities.
