The City of Homestead Energy Services Department is seeking quotes from qualified vendors for the purchase and delivery of a Schweitzer Integrated Communications Optical Network system to support substations. The system must be optimized for utility environments and meet specific technical requirements, including protocol support, virtual synchronous networking, traffic segregation, environmental hardening, and timing. The selected vendor will be required to provide equipment, configure, and commission the system. • The project involves upgrading the wide-area network (WAN) linking three substations: Renaissance, Redland, and Lucy. • The system must support high-speed protective relaying, SCADA, and video traffic across the substations. • The vendor must provide a warranty and guarantee for the equipment and services supplied. • The City reserves the right to request additional information, negotiate with vendors, and reject any or all quotes.
