Litigation Attorney

The Middlesex County Joint Health Insurance Fund is seeking a qualified litigation attorney to represent the Fund (and, when appropriate, its Commissioners or agents) in all legal actions throughout a one‑year contract period (April 1 2026 – March 31 2027). The attorney will handle prosecution and defense, conduct appeals, negotiate settlements (subject to Fund Commissioner approval), provide written legal opinions, maintain comprehensive litigation records, and attend required meetings. Evaluation will focus on the attorney’s name and qualifications, litigation experience and reputation, ability to perform timely, competitiveness of rates, and any other factors deemed in the Fund’s best interest. Vendors may be allowed to modify or resubmit proposals if the scope is revised. The award will be made by a majority vote of the Fund Commissioners at a public meeting. • Represent the Fund in all litigation matters, including appeals and settlements. • Provide legal opinions and maintain detailed litigation records. • Attend Fund Commissioner meetings and other required gatherings. • Selection based on qualifications, experience, timeliness, and competitive pricing. • One‑year term with no automatic renewal indicated.
