Proposition 68 Grant Program

The California Tahoe Conservancy’s Proposition 68 Grant Program provides funding to support the Conservancy’s statutory and strategic goals within the Lake Tahoe Basin. Eligible applicants include nonprofit organizations, public agencies, and tribal governments that can demonstrate projects that steward Conservancy lands, protect communities from wildfire, restore forest and watershed resilience, expand public access and recreation, and advance climate‑adaptation initiatives. The program allocates $27 million from Proposition 68, with $4 million earmarked for local assistance grants; matching funds are encouraged but not required. Grants are awarded on a rolling basis, with an ongoing period of performance, and are reimbursed after expenses are incurred. Applicants must submit a Letter of Intent and follow the full grant guidelines.
