The United States Navy is seeking a contractor to provide a stem for a 3-inch ball valve in accordance with Newport News drawing 255587. The valve is a critical component of a shipboard system, and its failure could result in serious personnel injury, loss of life, or loss of the ship itself. The contractor must provide a quality system in accordance with ISO-9001 and maintain traceability of the material from the supplier to the finished product. The contractor must also submit certification data, including quantitative chemical and mechanical analysis, and maintain a record of all inspections and tests. Key requirements include: * The valve must be made from QQ-N-286 material, form 2, annealed and age hardened. * The contractor must perform ultrasonic inspection on the starting material. * The contractor must submit a certificate of compliance certifying that the items furnished under this contract comply with the requirements of the procurement document. * The contractor must maintain a quality system in accordance with ISO-9001. * The contractor must provide a statement of tests performed, listing the pieces tested, and furnish a copy of the test results.
