AFRL National Research Network Request for Information

The Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL) is seeking information to identify potential sources to provide faster, more-trusted communication and network entry solutions for distributed research networks that meet future DAF needs. This initiative aims to gather feedback on operational models, partnership structures, cost drivers, sustainable financial models, and strategies to integrate commercial, civil, and defense markets. The key lines of effort include network architecture and governance, trusted collaboration, value proposition and ecosystem integration, economic engine and investment strategy, and mission impact and alignment. • The AFRL is looking for a scalable, agile research network to connect innovation hotspots and national partners. • The goal is to accelerate the invention of transformational capabilities for the USAF and USSF by focusing on impactful research that translates science and technology into dual-use applications and operational defense tools. • Respondents are encouraged to address how their expertise and capabilities align with the lines of effort. • The AFRL is seeking concepts for a collaborative network scenario that can help the community define "impactful" from a DAF perspective.
