Description
The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) intends to negotiate a firm-fixed priced purchase order on a sole source basis with Forney LP for a 500-kip Compression Testing Frame and a Laser Extensometer. The system must be capable of performing compression, flexural, splitting tensile, and modulus of elasticity/Poisson's ratio testing in accordance with applicable ASTM standards. The contractor shall furnish and deliver one commercially available 500-kip automatic compression testing system equipped with a fully integrated laser extensometer and all associated hardware, software, and accessories necessary to perform the required testing.
Key features of the system include:
• A VFD Control system
• Ability to connect to a standard 115 VAC -15A/20A circuit
• Platen fixtures for various testing applications
• Displacement control option and a minimum piston stroke of 2”
• Vertical and horizontal openings of minimum 18 in and 12”, respectively
• Lower platen dimension of 10” x 14”
• A minimum 12-month warranty from installation
• On-site training for NIST personnel
• Delivery, installation, and training within 4 months ARO
