Description

The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA), Forest Service (USFS), intends to issue a competitive Blanket Purchase Agreement (BPA) Call Order for Reforestation and Non-Native Invasive Species (NNIS) services at the Savannah River Site (SRS) in South Carolina. The project aims to control non-native invasive plant species and native invasive hardwoods that threaten forest health, impede reforestation and hurricane recovery efforts, and degrade wildlife habitat. The contractor will conduct selective herbicide treatments, provide all necessary labor, materials, equipment, and resources, and follow strict environmental safeguards, worker safety procedures, and technical standards. Some key aspects of the project include: • Controlling non-native invasive plant species and native invasive hardwoods • Conducting selective herbicide treatments using methods such as foliar spray, basal bark application, hack-and-squirt, and cut-stump treatment • Providing all necessary labor, materials, equipment, and resources • Following strict environmental safeguards, worker safety procedures, and technical standards • Supporting long-term natural resource management goals by reducing competition from invasive vegetation and improving ecological conditions across treated stands

Budget estimate

$50,000 – $200,000

The budget for this project is expected to exceed $20,000. Based on the description, the project involves a significant amount of labor, materials, and equipment, which could put the budget in the range of $50,000 to $200,000. However, this is a rough estimate and the actual budget could be higher or lower, depending on the specifics of the project. Factors that may influence the likely payment range include the extent of the non-native invasive plant species, the number of trees to be planted, and the complexity of the herbicide treatments.
