Description

This solicitation funds the design, purchase, installation, and (where applicable) transfer of ownership of Level 2 and DC‑fast electric vehicle chargers at U.S. military facilities located in California. The grant is a non‑reimbursable cash award ranging from $500 k to $1.5 M per project, with a minimum 50 % cash match required for military‑direct applicants (Category 1) and no match required for private firms already under contract with the military (Category 2). Projects must be completed by December 31 2029, and award decisions will be posted on a rolling first‑come‑first‑served basis until the $7 M pool is exhausted. • Eligible applicants: U.S. military branches (with cash match) or private contractors/subcontractors with an existing military or federal EV‑charging contract. • Funded items: New Level 2 and DC‑fast chargers, related hardware, utility upgrades, installation labor, and operation & maintenance for the installed equipment. • Exclusions: Level 1 chargers, lease payments, existing charger O&M, permit fees (must be covered by match funds), and ancillary structures not part of the charger system. • Reporting: Quarterly progress reports, semi‑annual charger inventory reports, daily data collection, and a final report due at least 60 days before contract end.

Budget estimate

$500,000 – $1,500,000

The program earmarks up to $7 million total, with each award ranging from $500,000 to $1.5 million. Assuming a typical project size near the upper limit, a contractor could earn roughly $1–1.5 million per award; smaller projects may be nearer $500 k. Therefore the expected budget range per award is $500 k–$1.5 million.
