2026 Street Reconstruction Program

The City of West Des Moines is seeking bids for the 2026 Street Reconstruction Project. The project involves removing and reconstructing Giles Street from 32nd Street to 28th Street, including the preparation of subbase material, storm sewer piping, and watermain updates. The project also includes surface restoration, traffic control, and other related work. The successful bidder will be required to furnish a performance and payment bond in the amount of 100% of the contract price. • The project requires the furnishing of all labor, equipment, and materials for the construction of improvements. • The project includes the removal and replacement of existing pavement, storm sewer structures, and watermain. • The project requires the installation of new storm sewer piping and the modification of existing sanitary sewer services. • The project includes the replacement of affected driveway approaches and the modification of sidewalk curb ramps to be ADA compliant. • The project requires the implementation of a Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plan and compliance with the NPDES General Permit No. 2.
