Accelerometers

The Department of the Army, Army Contracting Command Aberdeen Proving Ground (ACC-APG) is publishing a Notice of Intent to Sole Source for the procurement of brand-name Dytran Instruments, Inc. accelerometers and associated hardware. The requirement is for the procurement of specialized sensors used for Army test and evaluation operations. These electro-mechanical devices sense motion and convert that movement to an electrical signal proportional to the acceleration. The Government requires Dytran Instruments, Inc. commercial products, which must be directly compatible and interchangeable with the existing customized vibration data acquisition systems currently in use at the Aberdeen Test Center. • The procurement includes uniaxial and tri-axial accelerometers utilizing variable capacitance technology to achieve a low-end frequency response of zero (0). • The requirement also includes accompanying cable assemblies and mounting bases. • The Government is restricting competition to this specific brand name because these sensors must be directly compatible and interchangeable with the existing systems. • Responses must be submitted via email to Contract Specialist Morgan Alvey and Contracting Officer Dennis Beauclair, Jr.
