Description

The National Institutes of Health (NIH) is seeking applications to support pharmacodynamic, pharmacokinetic, and efficacy studies for therapeutic agents, including small molecules or biologics, to demonstrate sufficient biological activity to warrant further development as therapeutics for disorders or diseases supported by participating ICs or for non-opioid analgesic therapeutics with little or no addiction liability. The key aspects of this opportunity include: • Therapeutic agents, such as small molecules or biologics, will be studied for their pharmacodynamic, pharmacokinetic, and efficacy properties. • Efficacy testing can be conducted in validated in vivo models and/or validated New Approach Methodologies (NAMs) as appropriate. • The NIH Helping to End Addiction Long Term (HEAL) initiative is participating in this opportunity. • Applications are not being solicited at this time, but notice is being provided to allow potential applicants sufficient time to develop meaningful collaborations and responsive projects.
