Description
The Smithsonian Institution is seeking a contractor to provide indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity (IDIQ) planned maintenance and inspection services for environmentally controlled walk-in units. The contract will be for a period of one year, with the option to renew for nine additional one-year periods. The contractor will be responsible for performing routine planned maintenance and inspection services, including testing, repairing, cleaning, and replacing parts as needed. The contractor will also be required to provide any necessary supervision, fabrication, personnel, design sketches, materials, labor, tools, and equipment to perform the work. The contract will be firm fixed price, with a maximum out-of-pocket expense for maintenance materials of $300 per piece of equipment per year.
• The contract will cover approximately 70 environmentally controlled walk-in units at various locations in Washington, DC, Maryland, and Virginia.
• The contractor will be required to provide a rough order of magnitude (ROM) estimate for repair work, with a target turnaround time of 24 hours.
• The contractor will be evaluated based on their technical and cost proposal, with the award being made to the responsive, responsible offeror whose combined technical and cost proposal is determined to be the most advantageous and in the best interest of the Smithsonian Institution.
• The contractor will be required to provide a site-specific safety plan and to follow all applicable safety protocols and procedures.
• The contractor will be required to provide a list of all walk-in deficiencies observed during the first site visit and to provide proposals for repairs or replacements of equipment that is within the contractor's technical realm and above the $300 material threshold per walk-in.
