48--VALVE ASSEMBLY - AND OTHER REPLACEMENT PARTS

The Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) is seeking a contractor to manufacture and supply valve assemblies and other replacement parts. The contractor must ensure that the material supplied is free from mercury contamination and meets all the requirements specified in the contract. The contractor is responsible for the performance of all inspection requirements and must keep complete records of all inspection work. The packaging, packing, and marking of the supplies must be in accordance with the contract/purchase order schedule and MIL-STD 2073. • The contractor must provide a drawing and an explanation of the reason for any changes in design, material, servicing, or part number. • The contractor must obtain written approval from the Procurement Contracting Officer before proceeding with manufacture if the inclusion of metallic mercury is required as a functional part of the material. • The contractor must provide a "Warning Plate" stating that metallic mercury is a functional part of the item and include the name and location of that part. • The contractor must ensure that all products or supplies submitted to the Government for acceptance comply with all requirements of the contract/purchase order.
