FY26 SR-1 Bearing Replacement Contract

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers is seeking information for the replacement of bridge bearings on the Senator Roth Bridge in St. Georges, DE. The contract will include jacking of the bridge, removal of existing bearings, replacement of bearings, and placement of the bridge, as well as associated traffic control. The estimated magnitude of the project is between $5,000,000 and $10,000,000. The major items of work to be performed under this contract include providing temporary traffic control, replacing pot bearings, temporary jacking of the bridge, replacing elastomeric bearings, and spall and crack repairs. • The bridge is a 6-lane highway bridge located on Route 1 with approximately 39 million crossings per year. • The contractor will need to completely close the bridge in one direction for each bearing replacement. • The estimated period of performance will be 180 calendar days. • The anticipated North American Industrial Classification System (NAICS) code is 237990, Other Heavy and Civil Engineering Construction.
