Description
The State of Michigan Department of Corrections is seeking a contractor to replace the roofs of the PSB and Fieldhouse buildings at the Women's Huron Valley Correctional Facility. The project involves removing the existing roofs and installing new EPDM membranes, insulation, and metal panels. The contractor will be responsible for verifying all quantities prior to submitting a bid and for coordinating with the facility maintenance department to ensure that the work is performed in accordance with the specifications and manufacturer requirements. The project also includes the installation of new walkway pads, guardrails, and flashing.
• The project requires the contractor to inspect the existing insulation for any wet or deteriorated pieces and replace them on a unit price basis.
• The contractor must also verify the location of walkpads with the owner and provide them where indicated on the drawings or requested by the owner.
• The project involves the installation of new metal rake profiles and attachments to be installed per the roofing manufacturer's requirements for a 20-year warranty.
• The contractor must ensure that all equipment is shown in both approximate size and location and that all existing lighting, security cameras, speakers, etc. are coordinated with the owner if modifications or shutdowns are required.
