Description
The Town of Shrewsbury is seeking proposals from professional planning consultants to prepare a comprehensive Master Plan Update. The plan should include a review of the Town's existing Zoning Bylaws and regulations, and provide a basis for decision-making about land use planning, redevelopment, budget preparation, and economic development. The consultant will work closely with the Select Board, Planning Board, and Master Plan Steering Committee to conceive a structure and schedule of Master Plan public participation activities, assemble and analyze available data, and synthesize information into a comprehensive Master Plan document. The scope of services includes community vision, goals, and policies, public participation, land use, public services and facilities, housing, economic development, transportation and circulation, natural, cultural, and historic resources, and implementation.
• The consultant will participate in committee and public meetings as determined with Town staff.
• The consultant will work with Town staff to keep the community well informed as the process moves forward.
• The consultant will deliver Master Plan Goals and a Policy Statement at the end of the community vision phase.
• The consultant will identify priority redevelopment areas and preservation areas.
• The consultant will make recommendations for future land use and redevelopment.
• The consultant will suggest changes to the Zoning Bylaw and other local regulations and policies.
• The consultant will develop a strategy for implementing the Vision of the Master Plan Update.
