Benyaurd Falk Gearbox Overhaul

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers - Vicksburg District intends to award a sole source purchase order for the overhaul of one Gear Unit – Falk MRSDC-E and the replacement of the bearing cartridges in the 4 main engine pillar block shaft bearings. The work includes traveling to Vicksburg, MS to remove gear shaft assemblies from both MV Benyaurd Falk gear units and transporting them to a facility for repair. The contractor will need to inspect the bore tolerances, replace high and low speed bearings, seals, and airshaft seals, rebuild the oil pump, replace clutch assemblies, and reinstall gear shaft assemblies. The work must be completed no later than May 30, 2026. • The contractor will need to comply with security requirements, including suspicious activity reporting training and access control procedures. • The contractor will need to ensure all contract personnel are aware of their security responsibilities. • The contractor will need to provide written documentation of completed training to the Government representative. • The contractor will need to comply with physical security and access control requirements.
