Expedited Research Innovation System (ERIS)

The DARPA Expedited Research Innovation System (ERIS) is a digital marketplace that collects short video pitches of novel technologies across four topic areas (space‑operations, strategic‑systems resilience, chemical/biological threat defence, and human health/performance). Submissions are accepted monthly, limited to three per entity (unless a special‑topic area), with a 7‑minute video and four supplemental slides. DARPA and its marketplace manager (The Applied Research Institute) will assess each submission for “awardability”; awardable solutions become post‑competitive assets that can be negotiated under Other Transaction Authority without further competition. The solicitation is open‑ended, with no fixed budget ceiling, and solutions remain in the marketplace for 12 months (or 6 months for special topics). • Eligible participants: U.S. companies, universities, non‑profits, individuals; foreign entities only if unclassified and export‑control compliant. • Required deliverables: ≤7‑minute MP4 video, four supplemental slides, electronic form (including TRL, topic area, FOCI status, etc.). • Timeline: Monthly collection windows; cut‑off 12:00 PM ET on the last day of each month; assessment results within 30 days. • Outcome: Awardable videos can be negotiated for research, prototype, test‑and‑evaluation, or procurement contracts on a price‑no‑ceiling basis.
