US Roure 30 Middle Mile Infrastructure Project

The Ohio Department of Development's BroadbandOhio office is seeking proposals from qualified entities to expand commercially available middle-mile broadband infrastructure along the US Route 30 Corridor in Ohio. The project aims to build a fiber-based middle-mile network, consisting of two fiber paths, and provide a point of presence in Mansfield. The successful applicant will be required to provide a project management plan, community engagement plan, and technical specifications for the project. The contract will be awarded for a term of approximately 24 months, with the possibility of renewal for up to two years. Key aspects of the project include: • Construction of a conduit with interducts that can hold at least 288 fibers • Installation of fiber along the conduit • Provision of a point of presence in Mansfield • Making the middle mile infrastructure commercially available for at least 20 years • Accommodating fiber construction east and west along Route 30 • Providing a rate card for fiber usage • Coordinating with OARnet for technical capacity and corrections • Providing a project management plan and community engagement plan
