The South Coast Air Quality Management District is offering up to $2.5 million in funding for public entities to purchase and install diesel particulate filter (DPF) technology on new diesel emergency backup generator sets that serve schools, hospitals, prisons, and other sensitive sites. Applicants must be eligible public facilities, provide matching funds, and have a Permit to Construct/Operate deemed complete on or after 1 Jan 2013. Contracts are fixed‑price, one‑year, non‑extendable, and award is on a first‑come‑first‑serve basis with tie‑breakers.
• Eligible projects: installation of factory‑installed or retro‑fitted CARB‑verified/VERT‑approved DPFs on generators > 50 bhp (school proximity) or ≥ 175 bhp (within 50 m of a sensitive receptor).
• Funding limit: up to $100,000 per entity; full payment after installation, permit receipt, and final report.
• Required deliverables: permits, purchase orders, installation, staff training, quarterly status reports, and a final report within 60 days of completion.
