Description

The City of Santa Rosa is seeking qualified contractors to design, supply, install, and commission a modern four‑way traffic signal at the intersection of Santa Rosa Avenue and Bellevue Avenue, including pedestrian crossing improvements, curb‑ramp installations, roadway demolition/reconstruction, utility adjustments, and related electrical work. The contract also covers concrete curb and median work, signage, striping, storm‑water BMPs, and required performance and payment bonds. • Construct a protected four‑way traffic signal with LED heads, controller, detectors, and wireless communications. • Perform demolition of existing pavement, curbs, striping, and utility protection; install new concrete curbs, gutters, curb ramps, sidewalks, and detectable warning surfaces. • Coordinate utility relocations, provide electrical conduit and lighting, handle storm‑water compliance, and deliver all required submittals, warranties, and as‑built documentation.

Budget estimate

$1,000,000 – $3,000,000

A complete traffic‑signal installation with associated roadway demolition, concrete curb‑ramp construction, utility adjustments, and all required bonding and insurance typically runs between $1 million and $3 million for a municipal intersection of this size in California. The low estimate assumes a modest signal system and minimal utility relocation; the high estimate reflects extensive concrete work, additional pedestrian/bicycle facilities, and higher labor/wage rates under prevailing‑wage rules.
