The Indian Arts and Crafts Board's Museum of the Plains Indian requires the installation of a secure and durable perimeter fence to enhance protection of staff, visitors, cultural collections, and museum facilities. The contractor will furnish all labor, materials, equipment, tools, supervision, transportation, and services required to install a complete perimeter fence system. The objectives of this project are to enhance physical security, install a uniform and durable perimeter fencing system, provide vehicle and pedestrian access gates, and ensure compliance with federal, state, local, and tribal requirements. The scope of work includes site assessment, fencing plan development, ground preparation, inspection of materials, fence installation, and submission of required documentation. Key features of the fence system include approximately 1,969 linear feet of ornamental black aluminum industrial-grade steel fencing, spear-top design, 8 feet in height, with all appropriate hardware. The contractor must comply with OSHA, DOI, and applicable construction and safety standards throughout installation.
Some key points to consider are:
• The fence system must be constructed of industrial-grade steel with a thickness sufficient to prevent bending, deformation, or manipulation by intruders.
• The fence will be 18-gauge metal, or higher, for both the posts and the fence panels.
• Posts spacing will be eight feet on center, and upright pickets are five inches on center.
• All components will match in height, finish, and appearance.
• The contractor must submit full alignment and material specifications for government approval before installation.
