Contracted, Part-time Municipal Prosecutor

The City of Wheat Ridge is seeking a qualified individual or firm to provide exceptional Contracted, Part-time Municipal Prosecutor services. The selected contractor will be responsible for prosecuting all alleged violations of the City Code in Municipal Court, managing abatement cases, representing the City in administrative hearing cases, conducting legal research, and advising City departments and staff on enforcement procedures and legal requirements. The contractor must be licensed to practice law in the state and have experience in municipal prosecution, criminal law, or code enforcement. The term of the contract shall be for one year with the option to renew for four one-year periods. • The contractor will work closely with the City Attorney, City departments, law enforcement personnel, and other agencies to ensure consistent enforcement of the City's codes and ordinances. • The contractor will be responsible for maintaining knowledge of applicable federal, state, and local laws. • The contractor will communicate with defendants and their counsel as needed. • The contractor will perform other duties as assigned.
