The U.S. Army Combat Capabilities Development Command (DEVCOM) is seeking information on commercial technologies, products, or services that can be used to develop next-generation combat vehicle crew stations. The technologies should be able to survive combat/tactical vehicle operating conditions and should address one of the COAT Capability Areas, which include user interface, situational awareness, AI-enabled technologies, survivability, lethality, crew safety, electronic warfare, communication, cyber security, vetronics, embedded training, and virtual experimentation. The selected vendors will be offered an opportunity to collaborate with the Army via a Cooperative Research and Development Agreement (CRADA) to showcase their offerings. Some key aspects of the collaboration include:
• The government will provide access to Army SME support, Hardware-In-The-Loop System Integration Lab, Army ground combat/tactical vehicles, and operational assessment by soldiers.
• The vendor will provide the necessary services to successfully showcase their offering, including bailment of the product, technical support, and funding for labor, travel, and shipping of equipment.
• The government does not typically provide funding to the vendor for the agreed-upon collaboration work, but the vendor can fund the government for additional engineering/test services.
• The CRADA will protect the vendor's intellectual property and formalize expectations.
• The goal is to integrate the promising advanced crew station capabilities into a representative Next Generation Combat Vehicle and showcase the unified capability to senior military and civilian leadership.
