Description
The Federal Prison Industries, Bastrop is issuing a solicitation notice for the requirements of Vehicle Components. This solicitation is a Small Business set-aside, and the NAICS code for this solicitation is 423120. The contract will be awarded to the responsible business whose quote, conforming to the solicitation, is most advantageous to the Government based on Best Value.
The scope of work includes providing vehicle components, which may be for hardware, material, instructions, or a combination of parts required in the uplift of vehicles. The contractor will be required to deliver the components to UNICOR Federal Prison Industries, 1341 Hwy. 95 N., Bastrop, TX 78602.
Some key specifications for the vehicle components include:
* Must include 18" extruded aluminum mounting bar with pre-installed inserts and supplied black security screws
* Must include multiple positional mounting post
* Must have a breach adjustment capability
* Must include a trigger block lug
* Must include an eccentric pistol grip rest
* The trigger block and eccentric pistol grip rest will be mounted to the swivel pad (stationary side)
* The eccentric pistol grip rest is to be adjustable to accommodate various weapon grips
* The swivel pivot pads will have a firm durable rubber pad attached by way of concealed mechanical fasteners
* The active swivel pivot pad (non-stationary) is to be activated by way of a series of levers, cam, and slide rods
* The action lever will contain a specific key coded push-activated lock
* The lock is to be shielded by a hard plastic hood for durability
* Must include mounting instructions
* Will include all mounting hardware and any appropriate torque specs
Some key specifications for the gun lock include:
* The main body of the locking mechanism will be designed to accommodate mounting adjustability by way of concealed hardware that attaches the main body to the mounting post
* All internal locking mechanisms, electric timer, slides, cam, and breach adjustment point are to be concealed by way of a steel cover with an integrated key way so as to prevent tampering
* The retaining screw for the security cover must have a retaining nut on the inside of the cover so the screw will not disengage when the cover is removed
* When the action lever is in the closed position, the cover screw is concealed
* The retaining screw will be a 5/32" hex head screw
* Mounting screws that mount the locking device to the mounting post will be 5/16"-18 x 1 1/2"; 3/16 hex head
* Must include an integrated 8-second timer
* Timer is to be connected to positive and negative by way of red and black 18-gage wire
* Timer is to be activated by applying ground to the timer's green wire
* Solenoid will activate a stainless steel plunger
* Locking pin will be a 1/4" in diameter
* 2 keys per lock
* The lock will retain the key in the unlock position
* The pintle of the lock is to align with the plunger of the solenoid, therefore providing a locked device
