Description
The National Park Service intends to award a cooperative agreement to Ford's Theatre Society to enhance interpretation at Ford's Theatre. The project aims to expand accessibility through digital initiatives, including developing a digital strategy, upgrading wireless connectivity, creating a mobile application, and designing a new website. The recipient will be responsible for developing and presenting programming at Ford's Theatre NHS, while the National Park Service will provide funds and collaborate on the project. The key objectives of the project include preserving the site of Abraham Lincoln's assassination, providing engaging education programs, and making the cultural resources of Ford's Theatre more accessible.
• Develop and present programming at Ford's Theatre NHS
• Develop a digital strategy to expand reach and strengthen interpretation
• Upgrade existing radio connections and prepare for an expanded wireless upgrade
• Develop and implement more useful education resources and programs
• Continue using Google Cultural Institute to make cultural resources more accessible
• Design a mobile application with a game-like interface to engage student groups
• Collect observational research on student visitors and conduct in-person surveys
• Begin building a new website with expanded interactive and multimedia content
