SR Power Supplies Rack Detailed Design for ALS-U

The University of California, on behalf of Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory, seeks a qualified engineering firm to perform detailed design of 16 storage‑ring power‑supply rack families for the ALS‑U upgrade. The contractor will develop complete 3D CAD models, production‑ready mechanical drawings, electrical schematics, interconnect and cable‑harness documentation, and thermal‑management assessments, delivering a full Technical Data Package (TDP) by 31 January 2027. The effort includes participation in pre‑proposal briefings, responding to LBNL‑provided CAD libraries, and collaborating on rack‑family sequencing and review milestones (PDR/FDR). • Design of 16 rack configurations (Standard Sector, Hard Bend, ATS/STA, etc.) • Production of 3‑D CAD models, assembly drawings, electrical diagrams, and bill‑of‑materials packages • Thermal‑analysis verification (engineering assessment; CFD not required) • Delivery of complete TDP (models, drawings, documentation) by 31 Jan 2027 • Coordination with LBNL for design baselines, review criteria, and inter‑module connections • Mandatory submission of ALS‑U Quality Evaluation Survey and Representative Certification Form
