SHIPPING DRUM IDIQ

The Defense Logistics Agency Weapons Support is conducting market research to identify parties interested in and capable of supporting a requirement for an Indefinite Delivery Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) contract for Shipping Drums. The contract is expected to have a base year and four option periods. The shipping drums must meet specific requirements, including testing and marking requirements of 49 CFR, Subtitle B, Chapter 1, Part 178, Subpart L, and have a minimum specific gravity of 1.5 and hydrostatic pressure of 300. The drums must also be standard dimensions for 55-gallon drums, painted black, and have two threaded plug openings on the drum heads. Key requirements include: • Meeting the testing and marking requirements of 49 CFR, Subtitle B, Chapter 1, Part 178, Subpart L • Having a minimum specific gravity of 1.5 and hydrostatic pressure of 300 • Being standard dimensions for 55-gallon drums and painted black • Having two threaded plug openings on the drum heads • Being palletized and covered with a fiberboard cap to preclude standing water on drum heads
