B-1 Handles FD2020-25-50044

The United States Air Force is anticipating a solicitation for B-1 handles, which are initiator assemblies used in escape systems. The requirement is not set aside for small businesses and will be awarded on a sole-source basis to Rockwell Collins. The estimated award date is approximately July 2026. The solicitation is expected to be made available on the Governmentwide Point of Entry (GPE) on approximately January 07, 2026. • The handles are used in B-1B Type II and Type III escape systems. • The estimated quantities are 27 each for the Type III handles and 36 each for the Type II handles. • The handles are described as initiators, propellant actuated, with a length of 3.725 inches nominal. • The detonation initiation method is manual. • A qualification package is required for contractors who are not already qualified.
