Description

The United States Coast Guard is seeking a contractor to conduct a comprehensive vibration analysis of the Port and Starboard shafts and reduction gears on the USCGC MELVIN BELL (WPC 1155) after a recent propeller replacement. The contractor will be required to collect data at various locations and in specified formats, analyze the data to detect any excessive vibrations, and provide a final report with findings and recommendations. The primary place of performance will be onboard the USCGC MELVIN BELL (WPC 1155), located in Boston, MA. Key points to consider: * The contractor must have experience with vibration analysis and data collection. * The contractor must be able to operate at various engine and shaft speeds to ensure data is captured across the entire operational envelope. * The contractor must provide a final report with a summary of findings, representative graphs of vibration readings, and confirmation of compliance or non-compliance with vibration thresholds. * The contractor must ensure that all personnel have a valid-state issued REAL ID-compliant driver’s license or identification card, or an acceptable alternative form of identification, to gain base access.

Budget estimate

$50,000 – $200,000

The budget for this opportunity is difficult to estimate without more information on the scope of work and the number of personnel required. However, considering the complexity of the vibration analysis and the need for specialized equipment and expertise, a rough estimate for the project could be in the range of $50,000 to $200,000. This estimate is based on the assumption that the project will require a team of 2-5 people with specialized skills and equipment, and that the project will be completed within a few weeks to a few months. Factors that may influence the likely payment range include the level of expertise required, the amount of equipment needed, and the duration of the project.
