Description

The City of College Station is seeking bids for a traffic signal fiber expansion project. The project involves installing conduit, control boxes, fiber optic cabling, and associated infrastructure for final connections to existing fiber optic infrastructure at six separate traffic signal locations across the city. The work will require some underground boring, some use of existing conduit, and some aerial fiber installation on existing poles. TxDOT permits will be required for some of these locations, and work will be done within existing Right-of-Way areas. • Installation of conduit, control boxes, and fiber optic cabling • Underground boring and aerial fiber installation • Connection to existing fiber optic infrastructure • Compliance with TxDOT permits and Right-of-Way regulations

Budget estimate

$500,000 – $1,500,000

The estimated budget for this project is between $500,000 and $1,500,000. This estimate is based on the scope of work, which involves installing conduit, control boxes, and fiber optic cabling at six separate traffic signal locations. The complexity of the project, including the need for underground boring and aerial fiber installation, also supports a higher budget estimate. Additionally, the requirement for TxDOT permits and compliance with Right-of-Way regulations may increase the project's cost.
