Addendum 1 - Scale House and Entrance Improvements v1

The City of Salina is seeking a qualified contractor to design, construct, and commission a new scale‑house building and associated entrance improvements at its municipal solid‑waste landfill. The scope includes demolition of an existing scale house, full architectural/structural/mechanical/electrical/plumbing construction of a new scale‑house, installation of two truck scales with foundations, approach slabs, catwalks, and remote‑display wiring, as well as site‑wide civil works such as grading, paving, curbing, drainage, fencing, lighting, and landscaping. The contract is firm‑price on a unit‑price basis and requires performance and payment bonds, insurance, and compliance with Kansas weight‑and‑measure regulations. • Demolition of existing scale house and truck scale, earthwork, grading, and sub‑grade preparation. • New 2‑story scale‑house building (architectural, structural, MEP) and two new truck scales with foundations, catwalks (≈ 80 ft), and remote driver displays. • Site improvements: concrete paving (4″ & 8″), curbs, sidewalks, parking bumpers, fencing, remote‑operated gate, bollards, signage, lighting, seeding & mulching. • Required deliverables: all labor, material, equipment, testing/QC, bonds, insurance, and adherence to addenda (e.g., dowel‑bar joints, rip‑rap splash pads, concrete 4,000 psi strength). • Schedule: work must commence within 30 days after award and achieve substantial completion by 31 Dec 2026, final completion by 3 May 2027.
