SEPTA is procuring 350 units of the Hitachi GTO propulsion inverter (model 5SGA20H2501) for its rail fleet. The inverters are specified at 1800 V, 2000 A, and must be sourced from authorized Hitachi Energy distributors with no substitutions allowed. Bids were opened on September 25 2026, and the contract will be FOB SEPTA with freight prepaid by the vendor. The award has not yet been announced.
