Explosives Manufacturing

The Lawrence Livermore National Security, LLC (LLNS) is seeking sources that have existing capabilities or can reasonably develop capabilities to produce LLM-105, a high explosive substance. The production and delivery requirements include producing and delivering several thousand pounds per year, starting in 2028 and scaling up to full production needs in 2029. The production must occur in the United States, per ITAR compatible conditions, and delivery will be to US government sites in the continental United States. Interested contractors should submit detailed information on their qualifications and capabilities via email to Shawn Johnson. • The contractor must have expertise and experience in mixed nitration chemistry and analytical methods in the production of high explosive substances. • The contractor must have experience in scaling production from small-batch or pilot-scale manufacturing to high-volume production. • The contractor must have experience in contamination mitigation and waste management as a result of high explosives synthesis. • The contractor must possess the necessary contractor qualifications and must be manufactured exclusively in the United States.
